Atiku To Tinubu: “I’ll Be On The 2027 Ballot”
Atiku Abubakar, the African Democratic Congress’s (ADC) presidential candidate, has cautioned President Bola Tinubu that Nigerians will decide the outcome of the 2027 presidential election despite court maneuvers. Abubakar has insisted that he is still in the race and will be on the ballot.
Atiku claimed that the Tinubu administration was attempting to turn Nigeria into a one-party state by weakening opposition parties through legal proceedings and political pressure.
Atiku insisted that Nigerians should be free to select their leaders, saying in a statement on Friday that the most recent court decision should not be interpreted as the people’s will.
“Let no one mistake the latest court ruling for the will of the Nigerian people,” he said.
Declaring that he would not abandon the contest, Atiku told his supporters: “I am in this race. I am not going anywhere. We will be on the ballot.”
“If those in power believe in their numbers and their record, let us meet at the polls in a free, fair and credible contest.
“Bola cannot use the courts to escape the judgment of Nigerians at the ballot box.”
As the political landscape takes shape, we’ll be watching closely to see how this challenge unfolds. Is Atiku’s 2027 bid still possible, and will he ultimately make it onto the ballot? Only time will tell—let’s wait and see.
