Security Tightened In Akwa Ibom Ahead Of Tinubu Visit

Drones, fireworks, and other potentially frightening devices are prohibited by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command.

Prior to President Bola Tinubu’s one-day working visit to the state on Friday, the ban is in effect.

Projects constructed under Governor Umo Eno’s leadership are anticipated to be commissioned by Tinubu.

In advance of the 2027 general elections, he will also go to a rally hosted by the All Progressives Congress, or APC.

At a press conference in Uyo on Thursday, State Police Commissioner Baba Azare declared the limitations.

According to him, their purpose is to safeguard locals and maintain a peaceful visit.

The routes set aside for the president’s convoy were to be avoided by locals.

During the visit, major roads leading to the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, such as Ring Road III, Iron Road, and Airport Road, will be closed.

In order to prevent chaos, Azare also requested that any events scheduled for Friday be rescheduled.

He stated that the command is prepared to handle any threat and issued a warning that the police will not permit anyone to interfere with the visit or incite unrest.

The Ring Road III Extension, Arise Resort Park in Uyo, the Aviation Village, and the new terminal building at Victor Attah International Airport are among the projects scheduled for commissioning.

We wish Tinubu a safe journey to Akwa Ibom and a pleasant visit. May everything go smoothly, and may he enjoy his time there.

We are not trapped or locked up in these bones. No, no. We are free to change. And love changes us. And if we can love one another, we can break open the sky.

QUOTES

Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment." - Mahatma Gandh
