Wike Addresses Speculation Surrounding 2031 Succession Of Tinubu

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has refuted rumors that he is preparing to succeed President Bola Tinubu in 2031.

The Minister’s remarks coincide with claims that he founded the contentious Rainbow Coalition as part of a purported plan to position himself for the 2031 presidential contest.

After visiting a few projects in the nation’s capital on Monday, Wike responded to inquiries by saying that reports that connected him to 2031 were untrue.

According to him, “People like taking the position of God. First of all, you have to pray that you are alive. You must pray to God to keep you alive till tomorrow. It is when God keeps you alive that you know what to do.”

“How can you be planning 2031 now? Saying that I am positioning myself ahead of the 2031 election is not correct, but assuming it is true, what is wrong?

“People are just afraid of their shadows, not me. Let’s pray to be alive first.”

Ultimately, the power to choose our leaders lies in our hands. Who we vote for is entirely within our control, regardless of whether they belong to APC, PDP, or any other party. I personally will not vote for him, and I believe there are many others like me who share the same feeling. Whether the speculation is true or not, he should erase it from his mind.
