Solomon Buchi On The Value Of Babies With Down Syndrome

Published on

The abortion of children with Down syndrome has been criticized by social commentator Solomon Buchi, who calls the practice “deeply wrong.”

In an Instagram post, Buchi made the case that infants with disabilities should be treated with the same respect and dignity if society genuinely believes that all people are valuable regardless of their race, s*xual orientation, or other traits.

He said, “Aborting a child because they have Down syndrome is deeply wrong. If we truly believe that every human being deserves equal dignity and value, regardless of race, s*x, or any other characteristic, why should that principle not extend to babies with disabilities? Every life has worth”.

Babies with Down syndrome are unique and precious individuals who bring joy, love, and diversity into the world. Each of these lives has inherent worth and the potential to inspire, teach, and create meaningful connections.

Every human life, regardless of genetic differences or challenges, deserves respect, compassion, and the opportunity to thrive. Embracing and valuing all lives reminds us of our shared humanity and the importance of kindness and inclusion in building a more compassionate society
