JUST IN: Trump Appoints New White House Chief Of Staff

Published on

Stephen Miller, one of US President Donald Trump’s closest advisors and the creator of his strict immigration policy, has been appointed as his new chief of staff.

Miller, the current Deputy Chief of Staff, will take over on Monday, November 9, 2026, according to Trump’s Friday announcement on his Truth Social platform.

Miller will take over for Susie Wiles, who will move to the President’s political operation after leaving the position.

Miller is one of Trump’s most reliable advisors, he said, thanking Wiles for her service and praising her performance.

He wrote, “I am pleased to announce that Mr. Stephen Miller, the current Deputy Chief of Staff of the Trump Administration, and one of my most trusted advisors, will become the Chief of Staff starting Monday, November 9, 2026.

“Susie Wiles, who has done an outstanding job, will be moving over to the Trump Political Operation. I want to thank her for her service as Chief of Staff — she has done a great job!”

Since serving as a speechwriter during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, Miller has been a close advisor to the president.

Later, during Trump’s first administration, he worked as a senior policy adviser and was crucial in determining the President’s immigration policies.

He became one of the administration’s most important figures on immigration and domestic policy after returning to the White House in January 2025 as Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Homeland Security Adviser.

Miller contributed to the development of Trump’s immigration agenda during his first term, which included the 2018 policy that caused thousands of migrant families to be split up at the US-Mexico border.

Wiles, a seasoned political strategist, was the first female chief of staff at the White House.

Congratulations to Stephen Miller on this important appointment. Wishing him every success as he takes on the role and leads the team through the work ahead.
