Makinde Promises Single Presidential Term
Published on
Seyi Makinde, the presidential candidate for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), has pledged to serve a single four-year term if elected to the Nigerian presidency in 2027.
Speaking at an APM town hall meeting in Yola, Adamawa State, on Saturday, the governor of Oyo State pledged to address the nation’s problems, including poverty and insecurity.
“Our government will not last beyond four years. And it will be an all-inclusive government,” Makinde said at the event.
Only time will tell whether this promise will be kept. Political candidates often make commitments during campaigns, and we hope and pray that, if elected, Makinde will honour his pledge to serve just one term.
