Makinde Rewards Shooting Stars With New Buses After CAF Victory

In order to support the activities of the Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has authorized the immediate release of two busses, one with 32 seats and the other with 18 seats.

The governor stated that the gesture followed Shooting Stars’ thrilling victory over CS Sfaxien of Tunisia in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round match played at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, in a statement released by Commissioner for Information Prince Dotun Oyelade and made available to reporters in Ibadan on Sunday.

“The approval underscores the state government’s commitment to supporting the Oluyole Warriors as they represent Oyo State on the continental stage”, the statement partly read.

“Makinde has assured the club’s supporters and fans that the state government will continue to provide the necessary support to enable Shooting Stars to remain in contention for continental honours.”

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Governor Makinde for his generous support and commitment to the development of our sports teams. His contributions will undoubtedly motivate the Shooting Stars to achieve greater heights. Congratulations to the team on their well-deserved victory; we celebrate your success and look forward to more triumphs in the future.

We are not trapped or locked up in these bones. No, no. We are free to change. And love changes us. And if we can love one another, we can break open the sky.

QUOTES

Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment." - Mahatma Gandh
