Mercy Eke: The Bittersweet Truth About BBNaija

Mercy Eke, the winner of Big Brother Naija season four, claims that although she has benefited from the reality show, she regrets participating.

She revealed this in an interview that was published on Saturday on media personality Toke Makinwa’s program, Toke Moments.

Eke, who returned for an All Stars edition after winning the fourth edition of the show in 2019, claimed that the attention she received during her time on the show had made it hard for her to find serenity.

“I regret going to Big Brother, even though I love the benefits that come from it.”

“I wish I didn’t go, because I have friends who… I know people who are like, okay, this person has passed me but nobody’s talking about them, because they are not out there. But me, I’m not doing anything, and I can’t even sleep at night.”

“I felt like all of us, we have money already, but a lot of people were not acting like they didn’t have money before. They were more hungry than me.”

“I work hard, I challenge myself, I set goals for myself. A lot of that drives me to become a better version of myself, and then just keep moving, getting things done.”

“No knowledge is a waste.”

QUOTES

We are not trapped or locked up in these bones. No, no. We are free to change. And love changes us. And if we can love one another, we can break open the sky.

QUOTES

Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment." - Mahatma Gandh
