Ruth Kadiri Opens Up On The Truth Behind Her Hidden Marriage

Ruth Kadiri, a Nollywood actress and producer, has given an explanation for her decision to keep her marriage private, particularly while she was still getting used to married life.

The actress claimed that after making such a significant choice, she was initially terrified of marriage and uncertain about what the future would hold. She felt uneasy about having a large, public wedding because of this uncertainty.

Speaking on the Dear Ife podcast, she said:

“I had a phobia of marriage. I was battling with the fear of the unknown and asking myself, ‘Am I going to make this decision and everything will now scatter?’ So, I wasn’t really ready to have a public marriage, and my husband was okay with it.”

“Also, I didn’t want a lot of drama regarding my relationship. That’s why my husband and I invited only 50 people to our wedding. Twenty-five people were invited by him, while 25 others were invited by me. If I were abroad, I guess we would have just probably walked to the registry and gotten married,” she said.

I like her reasons because social media has become a platform where false information and rumors are often spread, sometimes damaging people’s privacy and reputation. Protecting her marriage by keeping it private is a wise decision, especially since her husband supports her in maintaining that confidentiality. It allows them to enjoy their relationship without unnecessary scrutiny or interference from the public, ensuring their happiness remains their own.
