BBNaija Shakes Things Up: Aikou & Flora As ‘The Gambit’ Amid N160m Prize Twist

Aikou and Flora were revealed as the first winners of Big Brother Naija Season 11’s “The Gambit” twist, which ensures their spots in the house until the grand finale but eliminates them from the competition for the ₦160 million grand prize.

Following a vote by viewers to choose one male and one female housemate to take on the special role, the announcement was made during Sunday’s live show.

With 29.38 percent of the vote, Flora became the female Gambit, while Aikou won the male Gambit title with 9.10 percent. Abi received 6.07 percent of the vote, while Ricky received 7.30 percent.

Announcing the outcome on X, the organisers wrote, “Voters have chosen The Gambit. Aikou and Flora are safe until the finale, but there’s one catch… they are no longer in the running for the ₦160 million grand prize.”

The organisers also teased the next phase of the twist, asking viewers, “What’s your first assignment for The Gambit this week?”

Aikou, a 25-year-old Abuja native, works as a freelance web developer and teacher. The self-described bookworm, who is calm, strong, and talkative, claims he feels at ease by himself. He acknowledges that he has a low threshold for dishonesty, but he is also single and eager to fall in love once more.

Flora, a makeup artist from Delta State, is well-known for her confidence and passion for style. She calls her romantic life “complicated” and claims that her boldness and honesty are enough to keep her roommates on their toes.

Biggie had previously stated that the gameplay, dubbed “The Gambit,” would give the chosen housemates longevity in the competition, but at a heavy price.

“This gameplay is called The Gambit. Should you be selected, you will be gifted longevity in the Big Brother house, guaranteeing you a place in the game until the end of the season.

“However, it comes with one important condition. You will not be competing for the grand prize. You will, however, remain a fully-fledged housemate, and all the rules of the game still apply to you,” Biggie said.
