Kwara Rescue: 176 Kidnapping Victims Break Free After Months In Captivity
176 individuals who were abducted during the February 3, 2026 raid on the Woro and Nuku communities in the state’s Kaiama Local Government Area have been freed, according to the Kwara State Government.
The State Government announced this on Wednesday via a post on its official Facebook page.
“Thank God and congrats to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the GCFR, the security forces, and everyone else who contributed to this amazing accomplishment. “Thank you,” the Facebook post stated.
The victims were kidnapped following a coordinated, allegedly multi-hour attack on the rural communities of Woro and Nuku by extremists with ties to Boko Haram on motorcycles.
We thank God for His mercy and grace in bringing these 176 kidnapping victims back safely. We are grateful for His protection and provision throughout this ordeal, and we pray for continued safety and peace for all. To Him be all the glory and honor.
