INEC Announces PVC Collection Dates Ahead Of 2027 Elections

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) will be collected nationwide starting on October 9, 2026.

Professor Joash Amupitan, the chairman of INEC, announced this on Monday in Kaduna during the Northwest Zonal Interactive Meeting with Staff and Readiness Assessment for the 2027 General Election.

Over 10.7 million new voters registered as a result of the recent voter registration drive, according to Amupitan.

In order to keep eligible citizens from losing their right to vote, he advocated for the removal of PVC distribution bottlenecks at the Local Government Area level.

Similarly, he revealed that INEC was improving its technological systems, such as voter verification and result transmission procedures, as well as its Result Management Systems, such as the recently unveiled eEC8A.

This is the moment many Nigerians have been waiting for. Eligible voters are encouraged to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) so they can participate in the elections and vote for the candidate of their choice.
