Osimhen Faces Surgery And AFCON Qualifier Absence
Victor Osimhen, a striker for Galatasaray, will have arthroscopic knee surgery after getting hurt during the team’s UEFA Champions League game against VfB Stuttgart.
A loose body was found in the Super Eagles striker’s left knee, according to a statement released by the Turkish champions on their official X account.
“In the UEFA Champions League match we played against VfB Stuttgart, our player Victor Osimhen sustained a strain in his left knee, and MRI examinations detected a loose body. An arthroscopic knee surgery will be performed tomorrow at Maslak Acıbadem Hospital by our club doctor Yener İnce. For this reason, our player has been removed from the squad for tomorrow’s match against Amed S. F.”
Yener İnce, a doctor from the Galatasaray club, will oversee the procedure at Maslak Acıbadem Hospital.
As a result, Osimhen will not play in Galatasaray’s upcoming match against Amed S. F., and it is unclear when he will fully recover.
He is also anticipated to miss Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Tanzania on November 13 and 17 due to the injury.
The Super Eagles are facing a setback as they get ready for the qualifying games without one of their main attacking players.
We wish Osimhen a successful surgery and a speedy recovery. We can’t wait to see him back in the team.
