How Can An 84-Year-Old Protest? Mike Bamiloye Supports Adeboye

In response to criticism from some Nigerians regarding Pastor E.A. Adeboye’s alleged silence on the nation’s recent insecurity issues, gospel minister Mike Bamiloye has stood up for him.

Given Adeboye’s age and spiritual calling, Bamiloye rejected the expectation that the General Overseer would spearhead or participate in protests in response to growing security concerns.

He wrote: “This is what he said. Many bloggers saw this, but they would project it onto others. But he spoke against the Evils.

And for all those who are expecting an 84-year-old man, Servant of God, to lead a Protest against a Government, this does not make sense by virtue of his age and by the Mandate of His Calling.

And for all those who said he led a Protest against Jonathan on February 2nd 2010, it was the instruction of the CAN and PFN for every church to stage a protest against INSECURITY in the nation, and he complied and led his denomination too, just as some other churches did.

Our major responsibility as the Church of God is to continually pray for the peace of our Nation and the intervention of God in the Government. I TIMOTHY 2:1-3″.

It is important to remember that Pastor Adeboye is a spiritual leader, not a political figure or government official. We should avoid unnecessary attacks or criticisms directed at him personally.

Instead, our focus should be on addressing the real issues and challenges facing our communities and nation. Constructive dialogue and collective efforts are more effective in creating positive change, rather than targeting individuals who are simply doing their best to serve and lead in their capacity.

We are not trapped or locked up in these bones. No, no. We are free to change. And love changes us. And if we can love one another, we can break open the sky.

QUOTES

Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment." - Mahatma Gandh
