Federal High Court Moves Lagos Division To New Ikoyi Complex, Grants Lawyers Free Parking

Federal High Court relocates Lagos Division to new Ikoyi facility, offering lawyers one-month free parking to ease transition challenges.

The Federal High Court has commenced the phased relocation of its Lagos Judicial Division from its old premises at No. 24, Oyinkan Abayomi Drive, Ikoyi, to its newly completed court complex at No. 1B, Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi, with a one-month free parking concession approved for lawyers to ease the transition.

The relocation, which began on July 31, 2026, follows the completion of the modern judicial complex and is expected to enhance the administration of justice by providing improved facilities for judges, court personnel, legal practitioners, litigants and other court users.

The development was announced in separate public notices issued by the Chief Registrar of the Federal High Court, Yahaya Yakubu Shafa, FCIArb., and the court’s management.

According to the notices, the relocation is being implemented in phases to ensure a seamless transition and minimise disruption to court proceedings and administrative operations.

The first phase covers Vacation Courts 7 and 12, as well as Courts 2, 3, 4 and 5. Also relocating are the offices of the Chief Registrar, the Deputy Chief Registrars and the Electronic Litigation Registrar of Process (ELRP).

The court further announced that the Vacation Courts would commence sittings at the new Bourdillon Road complex on Monday, August 3, 2026, while the remaining courts and administrative offices would be moved in subsequent phases.

To facilitate the relocation, the court approved free parking for legal practitioners at the new complex from July 31 to August 31, 2026. It stated that the concession is intended to make the transition more convenient for members of the Bar.
