Ekiti 2026: INEC Sets The Stage With 90% Results Uploaded On IReV

As of 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, the results of 2,208 of the 2,445 polling places in the Ekiti State governorship election had been uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Result Viewing Portal.

As the results are being compiled throughout the state, the uploaded results account for about 90% of the total polling unit results.

The current governor, Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is running for a second term before his first term ends in October. There are fourteen candidates running in the off-cycle governorship election.

Oluwole Oluyede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Oluwadare Bejide of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Oyebanji Olajuyin of the Labour Party (LP), and Blessing Abegunde of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) are his main opponents.

Samuel Akande of the African Action Congress (AAC), Ayodeji Ojo of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Opeyemi Felegan of Accord, Joseph Anifowose of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Bidemi Awogbemi of the Action Peoples Party (APP), Olaniyi Ayodele of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), and Victor Adetunji of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) are among the other contenders.

As the collation process moves forward throughout the state’s local government areas, results are still being sent to the IReV portal.
