Ebola: Nigeria’s Index Patient Evacuated Abroad By Air Ambulance

Nigeria’s index Ebola patient – a Ugandan-born wife of a Swiss diplomat – has been evacuated from Abuja aboard an air ambulance.

Nigeria’s index Ebola patient – a Ugandan-born wife of a Swiss diplomat – has been evacuated from Abuja aboard an air ambulance, ARISE News can confirm.

The medical evacuation took place through the private jet wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

The 42-year-old woman was flown out of the country early Monday morning aboard a medical evacuation aircraft.

ARISE News crew deployed to the General Aviation Terminal obtained pictures showing a convoy of ambulances and diplomatic vehicles arriving at the airport from Abuja city centre.

The three-vehicle convoy included a vehicle belonging to an international agency, which entered the airport’s private jet section.

Airport officials cordoned off the private wing as arrangements for the medical evacuation proceeded.

ARISE News also obtained video footage showing the medical evacuation aircraft and its crew involved in transporting the passenger, whose suspected status as the Ebola index patient prompted heightened attention to the operation.

A source told ARISE News that the Federal Government would announce the medical evacuation only after the aircraft had taken off and left Nigerian airspace.

We are not trapped or locked up in these bones. No, no. We are free to change. And love changes us. And if we can love one another, we can break open the sky.

Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment." - Mahatma Gandh
