Afrobeats musician David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, has counseled aspiring musicians to stay faithful to God even after they achieve success.
Many celebrities, particularly Christians, have openly acknowledged that they stopped attending church after becoming well-known.
In response to the trend, Davido warned that the music industry is full of distractions and advised aspiring musicians not to abandon God once they have achieved success in a recent interview with Kiss Xtra.
He said, “My advice for up-and-coming artistes, is first of all, believe in yourself. I worked on my craft so much. I loved music so much that I just wanted to get better every time. When I was young, I was learning from YouTube and the people around me.
“Secondly, love what you do and put God first and close, especially when you make it because there are so many distractions that can make you forget he is the reason you are here.”
Just like Apostle Paul, who proclaimed that whether he had abundance or was in need, he would always praise and stay committed to God, we too should never abandon our faith. No matter the circumstances, let us remain glued to God, trusting in His grace and steadfast love. Remember, true devotion means praising Him in every situation and never leaving His side.
