Clash Of The Stars: Phyna And Nkechi Blessing Set For Celebrity Boxing

Actress Nkechi Blessing and reality TV star Josephina Otabor, better known by her stage name as Phyna, are scheduled to square off in a celebrity boxing match on October 1, 2026.

The fight, titled “Phyna vs. Nkechi,” is slated to take place at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos as a part of Balmoral Group Promotions’ “Chaos in the Ring” series.

DAZN Boxing and Balmoral Group Promotions announced on Friday that the event will air live on SuperSport and DAZN.

The latest celebrity boxing match in the series, which has previously featured performers like Portable, Charles Okocha, Speed Darlington, and Carter Efe, is sponsored by Bet9ja.

Ahead of the October 1 fight, the organizers released promotional materials that showed Phyna and Nkechi dressed as boxers.

The organizers have not yet disclosed information about the undercard and ticketing arrangements.

The essence of this fight remains uncertain. Will it serve as a platform for reconciliation and understanding, or will it only deepen enmity and conflict? Instead of fueling further hostility, these celebrity clashes could be an opportunity for them to channel their energy into positive competition, where issues are resolved through dialogue rather than violence. True progress lies in promoting peace and harmony, especially among those who have disagreements. It is my hope that their priorities shift towards making amends and fostering unity, rather than engaging in battles that may ultimately lead us further away from peace.

QUOTES

We are not trapped or locked up in these bones. No, no. We are free to change. And love changes us. And if we can love one another, we can break open the sky.

QUOTES

Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment." - Mahatma Gandh
