Singer Chidinma Ekile described how she left Nigeria with the intention of never coming back.
The singer, who switched from secular to gospel music, claimed to have fled Nigeria.
“I travelled. I ran away from Nigeria. I was processing my papers not to come back to Nigeria, but for some reason, it didn’t work.Buy Maps
“While I was abroad, the CEO of Eezee Conceptz was the only one who was calling me from Nigeria. He kept encouraging me, and I found the strength to come back to Nigeria. When I came back, I asked him to give me a gospel music contract because I want to spend time with God. And he gave me a contract that even my lawyer said seemed like a charity,” Chidinma stated.
For many Nigerians, the desire to move abroad is driven by the challenges they face at home. With concerns about the healthcare system, poverty, and the rising cost of living, it can sometimes feel as though nothing is working. Many people hope that relocating will offer better opportunities and, above all, greater peace of mind.
