Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-described Director-General of the nonexistent Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), has been taken into custody.
He was apprehended shortly after a warrant for his arrest was issued by Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The operation’s specifics are still unclear, but Mr. Adeyemi was apprehended at his Osun State hideout.
Later on Tuesday, he is anticipated to be transported to the Abuja Police Headquarters.
The judge issued the arrest warrant earlier today after his attorney, Genesis Francis, informed the court that he was unable to persuade Mr. Adeyemi to appear in court because of the issues he brought up.
He claimed that his client expressed fear for his life in an open letter to the President because the case at hand had become a national hot topic.
Wisdom Madaki, the prosecutor, contended that the defendant had caused the case to be postponed five times for arraignment.
The prosecution asked the court to issue an arrest warrant for him in accordance with Section 394 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act.
In a brief decision, Justice Umar stated that Mr. Adeyemi was charged on November 27, 2025, and the hearing started on December 4, 2025.
He said that because the case at hand had become a national hot topic, his client wrote an open letter to the President expressing fear for his life.
The prosecutor, Wisdom Madaki, argued that the defendant was responsible for the case’s five arraignment postponements.
In line with Section 394 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, the prosecution requested that the court issue an arrest warrant for him.
Mr. Adeyemi is accused of eight felonies, including forging an appointment letter allegedly signed by President Femi Gbajabiamila’s chief of staff and purportedly issued by President Bola Tinubu.
