Basketmouth, a Nigerian comedian who is now an actor, has offered guidance to patriotic Nigerians.
He said on his Instagram story that personal survival is more significant than fleeting social media hashtags and that Nigeria is not worth dying for. He believes that being a popular hashtag is not as valuable as one’s life.
“Whatever you do in this life, don’t die for Nigeria.
You’re more valuable alive than as a trending hashtag.
A trending hashtag that might possibly last a few days”.
No one should ever entertain the thought of dying for Nigeria. Even those in power, who hold the nation’s fate in their hands, cannot claim to be willing to die for the country. Life is precious, and true patriotism lies in working towards positive change and progress rather than risking or sacrificing one’s life.
Nigeria’s future depends on unity, resilience, and a collective effort to build a better nation for all its citizens.
