Uba Sani On His Decision To Pick Jerry Adams For 2027
Uba Sani, the governor of Kaduna, has stated that his choice of Jerry Adams as his running mate in the 2027 election is an affirmation of his administration’s dedication to equity, justice, fairness, inclusion, and equal opportunities for all state residents.
This was stated on Tuesday when Sani announced that Adams, the Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service, would be his running mate in the 2027 gubernatorial contest.
On Tuesday, Sani announced the news in Kaduna.
Like the governor on the 2027 ticket, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, the current deputy governor, will be replaced by Adams.
Balarabe is serving her second consecutive term as deputy governor, having taken office in 2019.
According to the constitution, she is therefore ineligible to serve another term in office.
Nonetheless, Sani emphasized that Adams’ selection was based on principles that had guided his administration since taking office on May 29, 2023, and that it was the result of thorough consultations, introspection, and prayer.
The governor stated that the nomination represented the resolve to fortify unity and enhance citizens’ sense of belonging and went beyond choosing a deputy governorship candidate.
He believes that Kaduna’s religious, ethnic, and cultural diversity is still its greatest asset and should keep bringing people together rather than dividing them.
Sani claimed that through inclusive governance and fair distribution of development projects, his administration had spent more than three years mending rifts and rebuilding public trust.
The governor went on to say that cooperation with traditional leaders, religious authorities, women, young people, and community organizations had improved peace and encouraged mutual growth.
He claimed that increased security had made it possible for businesses to grow, investments to increase throughout numerous communities, and farmers to return to their fields.
According to Sani, Adams is a skilled tax administrator and public servant who revolutionized the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service via creativity, openness, and expertise.
He claimed that Adams’ leadership improved the state’s ability to generate revenue, allowing for increased investments in infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, education, and other vital areas.
Adams is a man of integrity, humility, and competence who is dedicated to inclusive governance, peace, and reconciliation, according to the governor.
He claimed that the nomination demonstrated his administration’s commitment to giving merit, skill, and morality top priority when it comes to public leadership.
Instead of viewing the development through the prisms of religion, ethnicity, or geography, Sani urged the people of Kaduna to embrace it through the vision of a united state.
He expressed confidence that the administration would leave a stronger foundation for future generations and promised to keep constructing a peaceful, secure, just, and prosperous Kaduna.
According to analysts, Adams’ selection will increase support for Sani in Southern Kaduna.
Speaking recently, during a meeting with leaders of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Kaduna, Adams had commended Sani over his efforts to promote peaceful coexistence across religious and ethnic lines in Kaduna State. Nigerian Current Events
“Governor Sani is doing well. He has done a lot in terms of peacebuilding and inclusivity. People are no longer talking about segregation in religion. What people are asking for is fairness, and that is what is happening now.”
“We have seen the governor in different Christian fora as a Muslim. Especially those of us from Southern Kaduna have seen him respect our traditional rulers”.
We wish both of you the very best in your political pursuits. May your dedication, vision, and leadership continue to inspire positive change and bring about a brighter future for all. Stay focused, resilient, and committed to your goals — success is within your reach.
