Tonto Dikeh Speaks Candidly About Her Faith Journey

Tonto Dikeh, a former Nollywood actress who is now an evangelist, has dispelled myths regarding her Christian faith by stating that her relationship with God predates both her public metamorphosis and her increased ministry involvement.

During an appearance on Kikelomo Atanda-Owo’s Real Talk With Kike, the actress revealed these details. On Thursday, October 22, 2026, she shared the exchange on her Instagram page.

During the interview, Tonto clarified that a lot of people think she gave her life to Christ around the time she started speaking out about her faith.

She claimed that her spiritual journey started when she was much younger and that she had even considered becoming a pastor.

“There’s a very big misconception about when I came out to when I gave my life to Christ,” she said.

“Let’s not mistake the fact that I’ve always been in Christ, to the point where I was going to be ordained a pastor. So I knew God at 17.”

“When I came out was not the time that I rededicated my life to God,” she said.

“That was the time when God had to take me through, so all the things I say God told me, it has to be private. It was a private praise that bettered the public announcement.”

“The worst thing anybody can do to this generation is make them feel they are far from God.”

I’m truly happy with the way Tonto Dikeh is living her life and with the positive changes that come through giving and growing in faith. Our faith journey can transform us, and I’m grateful that her story has strengthened so many people’s faith in God. If you’re not living for Christ, who are you living for? It’s better to live for Christ and abide in him, so he may abide in you. I thank God for the way her faith has been strengthened.

We are not trapped or locked up in these bones. No, no. We are free to change. And love changes us. And if we can love one another, we can break open the sky.

Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment." - Mahatma Gandh
