Jesus said, “Whoever welcomes God’s messenger because he is God’s messenger, will share in his reward” (Matthew 10:41). This shows us that honour is never wasted before God. When a person receives whom God has sent, not casually, but with faith, reverence, and understanding, that person becomes connected to the grace and reward upon the messenger.
To receive a prophet in the name of a prophet means to recognise the hand of God upon a person and to respond with honour. It is not worshipping man; it is discerning divine placement. God often sends His word, His help, His correction, and His direction through vessels. If the vessel is despised, the blessing it carries may also be missed. But when the vessel is received with the right heart, the reward attached to that grace can be released.
Honour opens doors that familiarity can close. Many people miss what God is saying because they are distracted by the humanity of the person He sent. They look at the background, weakness, appearance, age, or simplicity of the vessel, and they fail to recognise the message of God. But a wise heart does not stumble over the vessel; it receives the treasure God has placed within it.
A prophet’s reward is the blessing that comes through recognising, receiving, and responding to the grace of God upon His servant. It may come as direction, divine insight, answered prayer, spiritual covering, breakthrough, restoration, or timely instruction. When God sends a person into your life, He is often sending help in human form. How you receive that help can determine what you draw from it. Therefore, honour the people God has placed in your life for your growth, correction, covering, and destiny. Receive the word of God with humility. Respond to divine instruction with faith. Do not allow pride, familiarity, offence, or carelessness to rob you of what God wants to release. The reward of honour is real, and those who receive God’s messengers with the right heart will not miss what God has prepared for them.
