Following an exciting final on Wednesday at the Red Bull Arena in Salzburg, Austria, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Aston Villa 2-1 to keep the UEFA Super Cup.
The French champions put early pressure on Unai Emery’s team, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia gave PSG the lead in the twentieth minute.
But before halftime, Aston Villa answered with a goal from 17-year-old Brian Madjo, who became the youngest player to score in the UEFA Super Cup.
Désiré Doué’s goal in the 61st minute gave PSG a 2-1 lead again. Before the goal was permitted to stand, VAR reviewed it.
With the win, PSG has now won the UEFA Super Cup twice in a row, joining Real Madrid as the only teams to do so. Before successfully defending the title against Villa, PSG defeated Tottenham Hotspur to win the 2025 edition.
