Stop The Nagging, Save The Spark! Pastor Iren’s Love Advice
Pastor Emmanuel Iren has cautioned married women to be careful about how frequently they correct their husbands, cautioning that persistent criticism or guidance may eventually erode communication and romance in a marriage.
Speaking at a marriage and relationships workshop, Iren advised women to avoid giving their partners constant instructions because doing so could alter a man’s opinion of his wife.
The pastor claims that correcting a husband on a regular basis may cause him to start viewing his wife more as a mother than a romantic.
He said;
“And women, listen to me. Stop trying to tell the man what to do all the time. You will kill the romance in that house. A man you correct all the time will start seeing you as his mother.”
“And now you’re wondering where the spark has gone to. You’re correcting him all the time. It won’t work. It will not work.”
“And sometimes you must learn to allow him to be wrong. You see, suggest, don’t instruct.”
“If you do what I’m saying, the man will learn to listen to you more. And he will feel safe listening to you.”
Women should be careful in how they handle their corrections. There are some things you can overlook and others that can be corrected in a stylish and loving manner without coming across as harsh. Sometimes, when you’re joking or laughing with your partner, it’s a perfect opportunity to gently guide him or correct him through that playful process. Remember, it’s not about saying, “Don’t do this” or “Don’t do that” in a commanding tone. Instead, use loving and kind approaches to correct him. Correct in love, with a sweet tone, and always aim to build him up rather than tear him down. Women should strive to communicate their concerns with grace and affection, creating an environment of understanding and mutual respect.
