Ruth Kadiri, a Nollywood actress, has opened up about how she met her husband and how their relationship developed in a way she never really anticipated.
She clarified that she never actively pursued or became fixated on marriage as a child. It was just not a component of the pressure she experienced in her life.
“I’ve never really been the girl who sits down and thinks about marriage. It wasn’t a thing for me. I didn’t even know whether I was going to get married. I never had that kind of pressure to settle down.”
“I knew I was a catch, and anyone who was going to marry me would be lucky. As for who that person was going to be, I never really knew. But one thing I knew was that I kept saying no to whoever I was dating. I said no to like three people who wanted to marry me.”
“The first day I met my husband, God told me he was the one I was going to marry. I went to work, and he saw me and wanted to talk to me. At first, I wasn’t interested, but I later gave in. I thought he wanted to toast me or something.”
“The next thing, we started talking about Vietnam, business, importation and all that. We finished talking, and there was nothing like “I love you” or “I like you.”
“As I was about to walk away, the Spirit of God told me, “He’s your husband.”
“Two days later, I bl0cked him. But he went the extra mile to find me, and I was surprised to see him on my set. He found his way back and asked me out on a date.”
“I told the guy I was in a relationship with that I was going on a date, and I went. The fact that I’m in a relationship with a man doesn’t mean I’m h00ked. I’m very much single until I’m married.”
“I told him I was going on a date with another man, and that was it. We started talking, and I realised I was beginning to like him. Four months later, he proposed to me, and I accepted.”
In life, we often find that it has its own plans and timing, reminding us that what is truly meant for us will come to pass in God’s perfect time. When we walk closely with Him and cultivate a personal relationship, He whispers guidance and wisdom, helping us discern right from wrong.
Trusting in his divine agenda allows us to embrace life’s journey with faith and patience, knowing that God’s ordained purpose for us will always unfold at the right moment.
