NDC Backs Peter Obi For President With A Bold 10,000MW Power Promise

The Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) unanimously decided at its special convention to nominate Peter Obi as its presidential candidate.

Senator Victor Umeh, who represents Anambra Central, made the motion to accept Obi as the party’s presidential nominee. Delegates and party members at the convention unanimously supported the motion.

The motion was seconded by former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege, who affirmed Obi’s selection as the NDC presidential candidate.

The motion was subsequently approved through a voice vote by delegates and party members attending the convention. The process took place in the presence of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

In his acceptance speech, Peter Obi said that, if elected, Nigeria would generate more than 10,000 megawatts of electricity within four years. He presented the target as part of his vision for the country.

Delegates and party members present at the convention then passed the motion by voice vote. The Independent National Electoral Commission was present during the procedure.
