Toke Makinwa claims that she has never had a man ask her for money in any of her relationships, and she hopes that will continue.
The media personality claims that a relationship ends the instant a partner looks to her for financial support.
She discussed women providing financial support for their partners in a recent episode of her podcast, “Toke Moments.” She acknowledged that she occasionally wonders why no man she has dated has ever asked for that.
“When I hear women say these things, I sit down and I ask myself, why don’t men ask me for money? Men don’t ask me for money.”
“Maybe there is something on my head. Maybe because before you ask me, I’m already giving you all my problems? As soon as you say how are you? Today I have a headache.’ Maybe that’s why.”
“I’ve never dated a guy who has ever asked me for money. Even if I date a broke guy, he earns 5K, at least 3K out of that money he’ll give it to me”.
She said she considers herself fortunate that none of the men she’s dated has ever asked her for money.
“I’m thankful for that grace though, because I’ve never, ever, ever dated a guy that has confidently asked me for money. The day you do, you’ll never hear from me again”,
This is Toke Makinwa’s personal view, and it’s important that people respect her perspective. She believes that a man should not ask a woman for money, as it can undermine the respect and balance in a relationship.
Respecting her stance encourages healthier boundaries and promotes mutual understanding.
