Seyi Makinde, the presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), announced on Thursday that his party will win the 2027 election.

Makinde gave a speech at the APM Southwest town hall meeting in Akure, the capital of Ondo State.

Additionally, he announced that Nigeria’s next Senate President will be Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed.

Makinde said, “When somebody was introducing our national leader (Mohammed) he said ‘the governor of Bauchi State and an incoming senator’.

“Well, APM is going to win this election overwhelmingly because this is the reset agenda being put before Nigerians, so I dare to say that my national leader is the incoming Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“If you like, listen and start working towards actualisation, we are in the South-West, my zone and we are here in Akure.

“While I will not make age an issue in this campaign, I will make energy, having energy, being able to stay up late to deal with the challenges we face as a country. So please when they bring their presidential candidates, let the candidates be able to jump and if they can do that vote for them.”

As endorsements continue to emerge, various individuals and groups are backing their preferred candidates for the Senate presidency. Ultimately, time will tell who will assume the position in 2027. Above all, we hope the process will be free, fair and peaceful.
