Maina, Ex-Pension Board Manager, WANTED For Questioning

Abdulrasheed Abdullahi Maina, the former chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), has been listed as WANTED by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

On Wednesday, the EFCC made the announcement in a post on its verified X handle, which was signed by Dele Oyewale, Head of Media and Publicity.

According to reports, Maina was involved in a multi-billion-naira pension fraud scandal, fled the country for years, and recently engaged in high-profile legal disputes.

After serving a jail term for his conviction for pension-related fraud, Maina was released from the Kuje Correctional Center.

He was found guilty of money laundering offenses involving more than N2 billion by an Abuja Federal High Court in November 2021.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission arraigned him in October 2019, but he entered a not guilty plea to the twelve counts.

We urge Maina to do the right thing and cooperate fully by submitting himself for questioning. Such action will demonstrate his willingness to address the situation transparently and contribute to the pursuit of justice. It is in his best interest to cooperate and clear his name.
