Iyabo Ojo Reveals Why She Gave Ex-Husband The Green Light To Attend Priscilla’s Wedding

Iyabo Ojo, a Nollywood actress, revealed why she insisted that her ex-husband, Ademidun Ojo, actively attended their daughter Priscilla Ojo’s wedding, stating that she would not allow their past to interfere with their daughter’s special day.

The actress stated that she purposefully put aside their disagreements in order to break the cycle of strained family ties and provide her kids with a different experience during an appearance on The Morayo Show.

“I don’t know, there’s something called ancestral curses. And we Africans believe in it. Christians also. I believe that if you do not want something to continue, you have to be able to break it.

“So I made up my mind that whatever situation had happened, because my dad and my mum were also not together, every mistake they had made that I have made, my children will not make it.

“So I had to put aside what I felt, my differences, and play my part. That’s why I said I have paid the price for her to succeed and for her to be happy in her marriage.”

“Her father is not dead. He’s alive. So why can’t he be there? He didn’t wrong her. Me and him fell out. It has nothing to do with her.

“I made the choice to marry him. So whatever is going on between me and him is between me and him. It shouldn’t extend to my children.”

While I may not know Iyabo Ojo personally, I have deep respect and admiration for her. Her decision to allow her ex-husband to participate in her daughter’s wedding reflects a level of maturity and grace that is truly inspiring. Such actions demonstrate her strength of character and her commitment to family, earning her even more respect and love from those around her.

We are not trapped or locked up in these bones. No, no. We are free to change. And love changes us. And if we can love one another, we can break open the sky.

QUOTES

Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment." - Mahatma Gandh
