After returning to Nigeria from an extended work vacation in Europe, President Bola Tinubu has dismissed worries about his health, stating he is “healthy, sound, and ready to go.”
After spending the last portion of his vacation in France, Tinubu arrived in Lagos and spoke with reporters on Tuesday.
Tinubu responded that there was nothing wrong with him when asked about health concerns expressed by some Nigerians and his supporters near the end of his vacation.
“Ready to kick, ready to walk. There’s nothing wrong.
“Rumour will always be emanating from politics, but the facts remain I’m here. Healthy, sound, and ready to go,” the President said.
On August 30, Tinubu left Nigeria for a three-week working vacation in Europe, first going to London and then Paris, France.
Later, the Presidency announced an extension of his stay, claiming he continued to oversee Nigerian affairs while away and kept up with developments in the country.
Following weeks of public debate over his protracted absence, including political differences regarding the length of his stay overseas, he returned.
Due to Tinubu’s vacation, the African Action Congress also filed a lawsuit against the National Assembly, claiming that he neglected to inform them before departing the nation.
People should stop spreading unverified speculation about President Tinubu’s health. He has publicly said he is okay, and claims to the contrary should not be shared without credible evidence.
