FG Mourns Nigerian Medical Graduate Killed In Ukraine Attack
Nnani Adaobi Marian, a 23-year-old Nigerian medical graduate who reportedly died after being hurt during a Russian airstrike in Kharkiv, Ukraine, has been deeply mourned by the Federal Government.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, called the incident “tragic” and offered condolences to the deceased’s family, friends, and the larger Nigerian community.
Marian, a Kharkiv National Medical University graduate, died from wounds she received during the aerial bombardment, the ministry said.
“The Federal Government extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends, colleagues, and the Nigerian community affected by this tragic loss.”
“The Ministry is in contact with the relevant authorities as well as Nigeria’s Missions in Ukraine and Germany to verify the circumstances surrounding the incident and to provide the necessary consular assistance to the family.”
