According to legendary Afrobeat musician Femi Kuti, Nigeria’s main issue is not President Bola Tinubu.
He maintained that institutional corruption was Nigeria’s primary issue, emphasizing that Tinubu’s numerous accusations against him would have prevented him from running for president in the first place if Nigeria had a strong legal system.
In a recent episode of the Good News Naija podcast, Kuti stated that corruption was pervasive in Nigeria and emphasized that all those in positions of authority in every industry were members of the corrupt elite class.
“Do you think Tinubu is the problem? The judiciary that didn’t stop him from getting there in the first place is a problem. If all the allegations against him are true, how did he contest?
“If we had men and women of calibre and integrity, he wouldn’t have been able to contest in the first place,” he said.
