Drake’s World Cup Wager Pays Off: Rapper Wins $1 Million
After Canada defeated South Africa 1-0 in their knockout-stage match last night, Canadian rapper Drake won $1 million.
With a potential payout of $1,001,000, the Toronto rapper had wagered an enormous $770,000 (more than N1 billion) on Canada to defeat South Africa in their FIFA World Cup Round of 32 match. Drake made a profit of about $231,000 when the wager was officially fulfilled following Canada’s victory.
Drake revealed before the game that a message from South African DJ Black Coffee inspired him.
“@realblackcoffee was chirping in the DM I had to raise the STAKES,” he wrote alongside a screenshot of the wager.

Congratulations to Drake on his incredible win! His sharp prediction and bold betting have truly paid off. Wishing him continued success and more exciting victories in the future!
