Although Canada dominated possession early on, they found themselves behind when Bosnia’s Jovo Lukić scored with a header from a corner kick in the first half. However, Canada responded strongly in the second half. Substitute Cyle Larin netted a stunning equalizer, sending the home fans into a jubilant celebration. That crucial goal secured a historic draw for Canada.
This landmark result sets a positive tone as Canada prepares for their upcoming matches in a challenging Group B. The co-hosts will face Qatar on June 18 and Switzerland on June 24, both games hosted at BC Place in Vancouver.
