Breaking News: Gunmen Attack Enugu Church, Kidnap Seminarian And Worshippers

According to reports, during a Sunday morning church service, gunmen broke into St. Joseph Catholic Church, Inoyi, in Affa, Udi Local Government Area, Enugu State, and kidnapped a seminarian and at least one worshipper.

Sen Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, a well-known social media influencer, revealed the incident in a Facebook post, claiming that the attackers stormed the church and abducted a catechist, another worshipper, and a seminarian who had come to celebrate Mass.

He claims that the catechist was later freed by the abductors, but the seminarian and the other victim were taken hostage.

According to Ugwuanyi, local youths had started a search operation in the surrounding bushes, but they were being cautious because of the kidnappers’ alleged superior weaponry.

“The whole village is thrown into frenzy as the search continues,” he wrote, while calling on the government to intensify efforts to tackle rising insecurity in the area.

Why do they choose the house of God to carry out such devilish acts, turning sacred spaces into scenes of terror?
