AY Makun Addresses Concerns Over Insecurity And National Challenges

Published on

Comedian and filmmaker AY Makun has called on Nigerians to engage in honest reflection about the country’s challenges, particularly in light of the recent kidnapping of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.

In a statement shared online, AY argued that individuals whose livelihoods depend heavily on politicians or political structures often find it difficult to speak truthfully about national issues.

According to him, financial dependence on political interests can compromise people’s willingness to hold leaders accountable.

In his words;

“It’s time we tell ourselves some truths. When your source of livelihood depends on politics or politicians, your conscience d!es and telling the truth becomes your greatest feår. That is one thing I have noticed amongst us. We need to reflect deeply on the state of the nation and our collective responsibility as Nigerians. Today, we are dealing with matters that affect the country, not a political party, tribe, or religion.”

AY Makun’s insights shed light on the pressing issues of insecurity and national crises facing the country. His perspective emphasizes the need for collective effort, proactive measures, and unwavering commitment from all sectors of society to foster a safer and more stable nation. Addressing these challenges requires unity, resilience, and a shared responsibility to work towards sustainable solutions that will secure the future of the nation.
