APGA Supports Tinubu, Welcomes Soludo’s Role In Campaign
While fielding candidates for Anambra State’s legislative elections, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has reiterated its support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 reelection campaign.
Additionally, the party congratulated Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his appointment as Tinubu’s Presidential Campaign Council’s state coordinator, characterizing the move as an acknowledgment of his leadership and support for increased collaboration between the federal government and the state.
Following Soludo’s inclusion in the updated campaign council list, APGA’s National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, released a statement outlining the organization’s stance on Tuesday.
The party claimed that during a meeting of its National Executive Committee (NEC) and during the President’s working visit to Anambra State on May 8, 2025, it reiterated its decision to back Tinubu.
APGA claims that the choice influenced its decision to not run a presidential candidate in the 2027 election.
The party cited common progressive values and the advantages of collaboration between the federal government and the Anambra State government, especially in the areas of infrastructure and economic growth, as reasons for its support for Tinubu.
It conveyed optimism that Soludo would use his standing, organizational ability, and political clout in the Southeast to rally support for Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“While APGA remains firmly in control of Anambra State, our position remains: In Anambra, it is Tinubu for President, APGA for Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly,” the statement said.
I believe President Tinubu knows what he is doing by bringing in people from different political parties into his campaign committee, including Adeleke and Soludo. In Nigeria’s complex political landscape, such broad-based involvement may help build wider support. Ultimately, we hope the 2027 election will be peaceful and fair
