APC Confident Of Dominating Nigeria’s Political Landscape In 2027
With 31 governors, two governors from other parties, and more than 261,000 party executives nationwide, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that no opposition party in Nigeria can match its political structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The announcement was made on Wednesday at President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council inauguration at the Presidential Villa in Abuja by APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.
“No political party has our structure; we have over 261,000 party exco members and 31 governors, with two other governors supporting from different parties,” Yilwatda said.
“Your presence here makes our shared commitment as a party clear; we want a better country, supporting Mr President and Vice President to return for a second term,” he stated.
“The atmosphere shows all kinds of victory even before the election.”
The APC chairman also praised Tinubu’s administration, claiming that its infrastructure projects and other achievements were visible across the country.
“President Bola Tinubu has made tremendous progress over the last few years in projects that can be visibly seen, felt and touched,” he said.
The inauguration followed the release of the party’s revised Presidential Campaign Council list, which named Wike as campaign coordinator for Rivers State and the FCT.
Despite the APC’s confidence, the 2027 race is far from settled. New alliances may emerge, opposition parties could gain momentum, and voters will have the final say. The APC may believe it has the edge—but it shouldn’t count its rivals out just yet
