Prior to his wake-keeping ceremony on Wednesday night, the remains of the late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo have arrived in his hometown of Arochukwu, Abia State.
The actor’s death on May 11 following a fight with kidney cancer shocked the Nigerian entertainment industry. Family, friends, and supporters gathered to receive the actor’s body.
As part of his last funeral rites, the wake-keep is scheduled to occur at the Ekubo-Okwaraeke family home in Ujari Village, Arochukwu.
The actor will be buried on Thursday, June 18, after a funeral service at Mary Slessor School in Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu, according to Ekubo’s funeral plans, which were made public by his family last month.
It is truly painful to say goodbye to such a talented and beloved soul, but in moments like these, we are reminded that ultimately, we are not in control. Who are we to question God’s divine plan? We find solace in trusting that His will is perfect, even when it is difficult to understand. May his soul find peace, and may we find comfort in the memories he leaves behind.
