Nigerian skitmaker and comedian, Cute Abiola, has publicly apologised to former First Lady of Nigeria, Patience Jonathan, over the ridicule she faced years ago after breaking down in tears on national television.
In a post shared on his Instagram page, Cute Abiola reflected on the incident, noting that Patience Jonathan was widely mocked and criticised when she openly wept over the pain, bloodshed, and abduction of innocent children across the country.
According to him, the former First Lady’s emotional reaction stemmed from genuine concern for the victims and their families, as she fully understood the severity of the security crisis confronting the nation at the time.
The skitmaker stated that with kidnapping and insecurity still persisting in many parts of the country, more Nigerians now understand that her tears were not a sign of weakness but an expression of humanity and compassion.
Expressing regret over the public ridicule she endured, Cute Abiola offered a heartfelt apology and commended Patience Jonathan for caring enough to speak out and show empathy during a difficult period in the nation’s history.
Cute Abiola wrote, “MUMMY ! I just want to say we are sorry🙏🏻
Years ago, when you cried on national television over the pain, bloodshed, and kidnapping of innocent children,
You felt the pain of the victims and their families. You spoke with emotion because you understood the gravity of what was happening to our nation.
Today, as kidnapping and insecurity continue to affect innocent Nigerians, many now realize that your tears were not weakness. they were humanity.
We are sorry for the ridicule. Thank you for caring. Thank you for speaking up. And may God comfort every family affected by this tragedy and restore peace to our nation.”
