Visa Watch: Countries Requiring UK Short-Term Stays Under Six Months

Published on

The list of countries and traveler categories that require a visa before entering the UK for visits or stays shorter than six months has been reaffirmed in the UK’s updated Immigration Rules Appendix Visitor.

Unless they are eligible for particular exemptions listed elsewhere in the immigration regulations, nationals and citizens of more than 100 countries and territories must obtain entry clearance before traveling to the UK.

The updated guidance obtained by our correspondent on Saturday also states that “stateless persons and people travelling on documents other than a national passport or, where applicable, a national identity card must also obtain entry clearance before travelling, unless the document has been issued by the UK.”
