Van Persie Out As Feyenoord Manager

Feyenoord has made the decision to fire manager Robin van Persie.

This implies that a new head coach will take over for the Dutch team in 2026–2027.

“A terse statement released on its X handle on Sunday, read: “Feyenoord will start the 2026-2027 season with a new head coach. The club would like to thank Robin van Persie for everything he gave during his time as head coach.”

In February 2025, Van Persie rejoined his childhood club as head coach.

Despite helping Feyenoord finish second in the Eredivisie and earn a spot in the UEFA Champions League for the following season, he departs.

Devy Rigaux, the recently appointed technical director of Feyenoord, explained the choice by saying, “We conducted a thorough internal analysis.” Among other things, we considered the evolution of the style of play and the downward trend in the total number of points, both in the Eredivisie and in Europe.

“The conclusion was that it is better to start the next season with a new head coach.”

Robin van Persie’s tenure as Feyenoord manager has come to an end amid recent developments. Despite his efforts to lead the team, the decision to part ways reflects the club’s desire for a new direction. Fans and stakeholders will be eager to see who will step into the role next and how Feyenoord plans to move forward in their quest for success. Van Persie’s departure marks the end of a significant chapter, opening the door for fresh leadership and new opportunities ahead.
