UPDATE: Osun Commissioner Reveals Details Of Adeleke’s Convoy Assault In Osogbo

Kolapo Alimi, the Osun State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, has confirmed that Governor Ademola Adeleke’s convoy was attacked shortly after he left the Osogbo Ataoja’s palace, Oba Olanipekun.

Adeleke went to the monarch’s palace in Ojaba, Osogbo, to express gratitude after receiving his Certificate of Returns from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osogbo.

Alimi claimed that as the governor’s convoy was leaving the monarch’s palace, thugs ambushed it with intermittent gunfire, spreading fear throughout the neighborhood.

“They are hoodlums, and the governor’s security repelled them. They attacked the governor’s convoy at Ataoja’s palace. No casualty,” Alimi said.

This incident is truly disturbing and underscores the urgent need for all parties to prioritize peace and security in our state. Such acts of violence threaten the stability and progress of Osun, and they must be condemned in the strongest terms. It is a relief that the governor and his security personnel are safe, but we must work collectively to prevent such dangerous events from happening again. Peace and safety should always be our top priorities for the betterment of Osun.
