Umahi Applauds Kano’s Environmental Cleanliness Efforts

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has received praise from Minister of Works David Umahi for his administration’s efforts to enhance environmental sanitation and encourage a cleaner environment throughout the state.

Additionally, Umahi called on other Nigerian states to follow Kano’s lead in waste management and environmental cleanliness.

Abubakar Ahmad, the public relations officer of the Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB), signed a press release on Wednesday that included the minister’s praise.

In just two months, the Kano Task Force has arrested 380 suspects and secured 230 convictions.

The statement quoted Umahi as saying, “Kano State has demonstrated a strong commitment to environmental cleanliness. Other states across Nigeria should learn from its efforts and adopt similar measures to promote a cleaner and healthier environment for their citizens.”

The state government’s continuous efforts to enhance sanitation, safeguard public health, and motivate citizens to take more responsibility for maintaining a clean environment are highlighted by the minister’s praise.

According to him, residents, sanitation workers, and government agencies must work together for the sanitation initiatives to be successful.

It further stated that citizens were being urged to support government initiatives meant to safeguard public health, maintain clean surroundings, and dispose of waste appropriately.

In order to maintain the advancements made thus far, the state government was also urged to continue its sanitation initiatives and increase public involvement in environmental management.

Kano State’s governor deserves commendation for his excellent efforts in maintaining environmental cleanliness. Other states should take a cue from Kano and adopt similar initiatives to create cleaner, healthier communities.
