Two people were killed and nine others injured after Ukrainian drones struck Russia’s Moscow region overnight, the governor says.
Two people were killed and nine others injured in overnight Ukrainian drone attacks across the Moscow region, Governor Andrei Vorobyov said on Tuesday.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said earlier that more than 650 Ukrainian drones had been launched in a wave targeting the Russian capital overnight, with most of them shot down.
Vorobyov said one of those killed was a 71-year-old man who was recovered from beneath the rubble of a house, while a 20-year-old man was found dead in a nearby village.
A warehouse was also set on fire following the attacks, according to local authorities.
In Domodedovo, south of Moscow and home to the country’s third-largest airport, officials were working to restore electricity to villages affected by the drone strikes, the city’s head said.
