Tinubu Swears In Abel Enitan As New Civil Service Chief — A New Dawn For Nigeria’s Public Service!

Abel Enitan has been sworn in by President Bola Tinubu as the new head of the federation’s civil service (HoCSF).

Enitan officially succeeded Didi Walson-Jack, who left the federal civil service on Thursday after reaching the statutory retirement age of 60, by taking the oath of office in front of the president at the State House in Abuja.

On August 19, the presidency declared Enitan’s appointment.

The swearing-in followed a meeting between Tinubu, Enitan and Walson-Jack at the State House on August 21, as part of arrangements for a smooth transition.

At the time of his appointment, Enitan, a native of Osun State, was the highest ranking permanent secretary in the federal civil service.

He had been a permanent secretary for seven years and seven months, holding positions in the vise president’s office, the ministry of police affairs, and the ministry of humanitarian affairs.

Prior to his appointment as HoCSF, he served as the federal ministry of education’s permanent secretary.

On December 12, 1966, Enitan was born. He went to the College of Arts and Science in Ile-Ife and Ajibode Grammar School in Ibadan.

He earned an MSc in public policy analysis from Nasarawa State University in Lafia in 2015 after earning a BSc in finance and banking from the University of Lagos in 1988.

In order to support the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the president also asked Enitan to create a more responsive and efficient bureaucracy.

Congratulations to Abel Enitan on his appointment as the new Head of the Civil Service. This is a remarkable achievement and a testament to his dedication and expertise. We wish him all the best as he embarks on this important role, promising to bring positive change and renewed focus to Nigeria’s public service. Your leadership is poised to make a significant impact, and we look forward to seeing your success in this new chapter.

We are not trapped or locked up in these bones. No, no. We are free to change. And love changes us. And if we can love one another, we can break open the sky.

QUOTES

Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment." - Mahatma Gandh
